Board of Trustees
The ARF Board of Trustees consists of individuals and representatives of companies and charitable foundations who have qualified as Trustees through major donations of $50,000 or more. The Board of Trustees serves as an advisory body to the ARF Board of Directors on investments and project funding and will endeavor to raise funds for the Foundation. ARF Board of Trustee and Former IIAR President Passes
Bill Kahlert, an Honorary Life Member of IIAR, former IIAR President and major Ammonia Refrigeration Foundation (ARF) contributor, died August 8, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. Kahlert, 85, served as President of IIAR in 1988-89. He was named ARF Philanthropist of the Year in 2009 and the William E Kahlert Foundation made a $1MM pledge to ARF in 2010.
Kahlert spent his career in industrial refrigeration. He was co-founder of EVAPCO, and while he officially retired several years ago, he has remained involved with the company.
JW Bowles, retired President and CEO of Evapco praised Kahlert as one of the most influential and innovative influences in our industry. Bowles called him on outstanding leader and businessman as well as a human being known by all associated with him for his warmth and generosity.
