How to Give Gifts Through Your EstateEstate gifts are a very important source of funding for ARF and we appreciate your interest in remembering us in your will, trust or other estate vehicle. There are several types of bequests: Specific Bequest Residuary Bequest Contingent Bequests Information that your Attorney needs to prepare your bequest You may specify that your gift be used for the general purposes of the organization, which provides ARF with the most flexibility. Simply have your attorney insert the following language in addition to the language listed above: "to foster and promote the growth, progress, and general welfare of ARF as the Board of Directors may direct." If you wish to further direct your bequest, please contact the Foundation's office at 703.312.4200. Many people name ARF in their estate plans, but never let us know. We hope that you will let us know when you have completed your estate planning documents and have named ARF as a beneficiary. We would like to express our appreciation and will respect your anonymity if you so choose. In addition, by letting us know about your plans, you will help ARF plan for the future and help ensure that your wishes are carried out after your lifetime. Gifts to ARF are tax deductible. An attorney familiar with local probate practice should draft your will, trust or other bequest document. ARF cannot prepare your bequest documents nor act as executor of your estate.
