About the Foundation
The Ammonia Refrigeration Foundation (ARF) is a non-profit research and education foundation organized by members of the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR) to promote educational and scientific projects related to industrial refrigeration and the use of ammonia and other natural refrigerants.
The goal of the Foundation is to support research and educational efforts in industrial refrigeration, particularly in the area of ammonia and natural refrigerants. Some of the ways the Foundation envisions accomplishing its goals are:
- to create and fund scholarship programs
- to fund industry-specific research
The nine-member Board of Directors of ARF is comprised of the IIAR Immediate Past Chair who serves as the Foundations Chair, the IIAR current Chair who serves as the Foundations Secretary, one current IIAR appointed board member, two general members of IIAR appointed by the IIAR Board, the Chair of the IIAR Research Committee, the Chair of the IIAR Education Committee and two general members of the Board of Trustees.
ARF is a 501(c)(3) foundation, created with an endowment from IIAR. Individuals, manufacturers, contractors and end-users of refrigeration are encouraged to participate in the important work of the Foundation either through tax-deductible donations that would further the legacy of our industry or through proposals for educational and research programs for the organization to consider for funding.
